Join us at the gallery on Saturday November 9 at 4:40pm for Trio Concertante, an afternoon of classical and contemporary live music. Led by concert guitarist and composer Carlos Pavan, the trio of musicians will transform our art space into an intimate recital room filled with sounds that will start your week off in a wonderful way. Carlos will be joined by Frances Brodeur on flute and Nadeen Fankhauser on clarinet. Solos, duets and trio pieces will be featured.
Argentine-born, Park Slope-based Carlos Pavan has performed at 440 Gallery, along with many of the leading performance venues in NYC and beyond. His recording Suite del Interior, original compositions for guitar and string quartet, is a blend of Argentine tango and folk dances, jazz harmonies and classical forms. When not performing, he offers private guitar/composition lessons and is an instructor at the Noel Pointer Foundation.
Both Frances Brodeur, flute and Nadeen Fankhauser, clarinet, are Brooklyn-based musicians and educators. Brodeur is Principal Flutist with the String Orchestra of Brooklyn and performs with the Park Slope Chamber Players. She runs a private music studio out of her home for children and adults. Nadeen Fankhauser has held playing positions in the Orchestra Iowa and Evansville Philharmonic Orchestra and has been teaching the clarinet for over twenty years.
A donation of $20 is suggested.
