440 Gallery announces "Heart of the City," a solo exhibition of deeply urban photographs by David Stock. Examining New York City culture, Stock's work has long been inspired by the rich variety of the social landscape in and around his Jackson Heights home. In this show, he turns his lens on "the powerful rhythms of local streets, crowded with hard working New Yorkers of every nationality, animated by irrepressible hope and energy." Within the seemingly random flow of the street, Stock uncovers coherent scenarios and everyday dramas. His fifth one-person show at the gallery simultaneously documents his unique neighborhood and reverberates with personal thoughts and feelings.
