Design and Make a Diorama

Influenced by artist David Stock’s photography show “Hard-Working Storefronts”

Why is it that some stores are so cool that we love to visit and shop at them? We’ll think about this when we examine the photographs that artist David Stock shows in “Hard-Working Storefronts” and we’ll talk about how stores attract customers by creating interesting displays. Then, using mixed-media materials and cardboard boxes, we will work with drawing and collage to invent our own stores. Art Educators Susan Greenstein and Gail Flanery will guide us along in this fun workshop. What will you display in your store and what things will you need to consider in order to make it a special place that everybody will want to come to?
