"(home)": A Juried Exhibition

“Perhaps home is not a place but simply an irrevocable condition,” James Baldwin, Giovanni’s Room.

What is home? What does it feel like? Is it where you hang your hat or where your heart is? Is it sweet or temporary or someplace else?

The idea of “home” is charged with emotion: an overused advertising meme, a political knot of identity, security and displacement. Personal as a womb and all-encompassing as Mother Earth.

The juror for (home) is celebrated artist Joan Bankemper.
