Artist Talk: Acey, Chuse, Makon, Stock

Artist Talk:
A conversation centered on Abstraction and Realism

Of the four artists currently on view at 440 Gallery, two work abstractly, two work realistically. What motivates an artist to work in a particular style? What does the artist see and how does that get translated into a work of art? Join us for this lively discourse about thinking, process and technique. Abstract artist Jo-Ann Acey will discuss her new pastel-drawing series La Luna; painter Ellen Chuse will delve into her on-going fascination with organic forms; watercolorist Joy Makon will talk about what motivates her to select a subject, and photographer David Stock will share his thoughts on the hard-working storefronts of NYC.
