Poetry at 440: Elovic, Lunsford, Zayas

Readings by Barbara Elovic, Nancy Lunsford and Krystal Zayas.

Barbara Elovic will read poems from her most recent collection, Other People’s Stories, in which she describes telling moments in the lives of famous people and family members. The cast of characters ranges from American civil rights leaders to well-known artists to those who live only in the imagination.  She will also read more recent poems many of which are political.

Nancy Lunsford, an artist and co founder of 440 Gallery, often incorporates poetry and text in her work.  Her "Take a Haiku" installation was featured at a recent conference of the Alliance of Artists Communities. She has performed in slams at the Nuyorican Poets Cafe among other venues.

Krystal Zayas is a 21 year-old creative writer with a kind and genuine heart. Zayas is inspired by her family, in particular, her grandfather’s unconditional love. Zayas is included in the anthology Where The Mind Dwells by Eber & Wein Publishing.
