SOHN PLENEFISCH
Sohn Plenefisch’s approach to work is deeply influenced by the perspective that art is most powerful when experienced in person. Coming from a background in theatre and a world of textural immersion, they blend 3D elements with flat painting, using techniques such as foam carving, texture sculpting, resin pours, and crystal embellishments to center light, reflection, and movement in their artistic practice. These materials and processes introduce a dynamic quality to the work, as light interacts with the surfaces in different ways depending on the viewer’s position, allowing a greater interplay between work and viewer and amplifying themes of solitude, loss, and vacancy.
