Gallery Talk: Process and Purpose

Join us at 440 Gallery for a lively afternoon talk by member-artists Ellen Chuse, Shanee Epstein, Gail Flanery and Amy Weil. Each artist will converse about the diverse processes and techniques used to create their work. Ellen Chuse will discuss her new body of work that incorporates vintage pieces and repurposes the old into new. Collage-artist Shanee Epstein will speak about her techniques that incorporate numerous layers on base surfaces for the recent work she has been creating. Gail Flanery will talk about her work as a printmaker and how she elevates traditional printmaking methods to a unique medium within her work. Encaustic painter Amy Weil will describe her series Fragments and Remnants—a collection that represents past memories and remnants of thoughts, images and forgotten places.
